Why Turkiye?

"Kok Turki Ries? Nggak Amerika atau negara adidaya lainnya?" "Turki, negara yang sering demo itu ya?" "UInya dilepas?" "Turki? Bahasanya Arab - Arab gitu bukan sih?" "Wah, Turkiiiii aku juga mau kesana" "Turki? Di mana sih lokasinya? Yang wilayah Timur Tengah gitu?" "Memangnya ada apaan di Turki?"

"Why Turkey? Why not America or the other superpower countries?" "Turkey. isn't it the country where demonstration occured frequently?" "Do you resign from UI(University of Indonesia)?" "Turkey? The country which use Arabic language as its native language, isn't it?" "Turkey? Where is that? Isn't it located in Middle Eastern?" "What's in Turkey?"

Been asked this, been criticized that, been commented everything. Well, that's the perk of living in a Democratic Country. Country where people with abundant eagerness to know live. That's a positive value/good addition when it comes to a craving-for-knowledge thing but not people's problem/secret. But in my humble opinion, it's good because it's what makes my country unique, it's what makes my country special, it's what makes my country different from others.

Reading the prologue (first paragraph) gives me a little bit amount of sadness. It's not that I'm sad because of being underestimated or being a laughing stock because of my almost-impossible-to-reach-kind-of dream. It's because how narrow minded our society where we live is (not all, but I realize I'm one of the narrow-minded). I may be a little bit disrespectful to say "narrow minded" but I guess it's the reality that we're facing right now and the fact that I like to write things objectively (SOMETIMES).

Then I realize, it's not people narrow-mindedness, it's me who easily get disappointed to certain kind of trivial problems. I realize everyone has different point of views, I realize everyone has different interests, I realize everyone has different definition of an objectivity. Those things are what makes this life colorful, makes living more than just a happy ending story. Underestimation was made to grow people and fears were made to be overcome. If you dislike what people comment about ignore it. Ignore it for a few days, few weeks or even a few centuries, then when you're ready enough you can learn from it even it's not more than just an atomic weight. Everyone is right in their own point of views, no one's wrong or making mistakes. Be wise.

Let people talk what they want to talk, let people complain what they want to complain about. Care what you have to care, forget what messed up with your head, love what you want to love and leave those things at the bottom place of your priority scale. If you have a dream, run for it. Take people's critics as compliments, take people's underestimation as sunlight that helps plant photosynthesizes. If you're failed once, it's usual. If you're failed twice it's also usual. If you're failed at almost everything, take it as experience, take it as lesson, lesson to ignite your spirits to be more successful the next day, next week or even next decades. Dream high, it's maybe painful to fail, but remember this is just once in a lifetime. You're not gonna live twice.

To be in Turkey has been my biggest dream since 2 years ago, since the first time I saw the scholarship announcement on the Embassy of Indonesia in Ankara. I really want to study in Turkey because it is strategically located, between two continents, Asia and Europe. Makes Turkey deserves may tourists. Turkey also has 4 seasons which is one of my biggest dream to study in a subtropical country, to feel the gorgeousness of the springs when flowers bloom, to feel the hotness of summer where we'll get a 3 months holiday, to feel the breeze and windy sensation of autumn and the last one to feel the coldness and the beauty of snow of winter. And by located between 2 continents it makes its environment different. I've been hearing a lot about the hospitality of Turkish from blogs and web sites and I've experienced that too. Most of Turkish that I meet virtually is so kind. Turkey also has many great histories that can blow people's mind. Roman, Byzantines and Ottoman. So we will not be just studying our major, but learning so many new things and see it by bare eyes, not only seeing it virtually. the last one, I LOVE TURKEY AND I COULDN'T EXPRESS IT IN SOME WRITABLE REASONS.
